What is Evidence-Based Research?

Evidence-based research occurs when the researcher begins the research process already aware of certain evidence that supports a theory. Research is conducted to test the validity of the theory. 

To find out if research is evidence-based, look for terminology in the title or abstract including: systematic review, critically appraised, RCT (Randomized Controlled Trials) and cohort studies or case-controlled studies.
